About the event
Whether you are a part of the lgbtq+ community or an ally, we all could use some educational material on Queer culture, history, and topical issues. From the book burnings at the Institute of Sexology in 1933 to the present-day school book bans across the US, Lgbtq+ educational materials have been ripped from the hands of those who need them the most.
Now more than ever, community groups are needed to provide support and information to queer people, parents, and advocates. We can use our knowledge to fight against discrimination and bigotry. This education and support group aims to provide vital information about finding resilience within the queer community as well as connect queer people and allies to community resources. We will create art, do activities, create documentation, teach queer history, and become social advocates for ourselves and others.
Starting Saturdays, beginning October 7th, and hosted by Andi Faber.Â
Who the Heck is Andromeda Faber?Â

"My work is in theatre and psychology. I am passionate about community creativity and accountability. I am a first-year drama therapy student at Lesley University. My work focuses on the queer community, homelessness, foster care, and advocacy for sex trafficking survivors.
Currently, I run an educational LGBT support group at Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health in Kennesaw, GA. I am working to complete my workbook for this program, so stay tuned for access!
My hobbies include singing, dancing, crafting, and poetry. I believe my future success as a therapist depends greatly on cultivating my identity as an individual so I can show up as my full self.
I find community activism to be an integral part of developing my therapeutic practice. I am involved in Stop Cop City, the Black Lives Matter movement, Food not Bombs, and many other local and national organizations for social justice.
I am currently working on my certification in yoga instruction and plan to create several groups that will directly benefit the local homeless population through cash donations and harm reduction resources."
