About the event

Welcome to Morning Music and Meditation: Mettā! with LeLaina from solocantar.space

Mettā is a Pali word that is often translated as Loving-kindness in Western Buddhist meditation teachings and practices. In this 90 minute practice, we will practice Mettā in silence, song, and writing. You don't need to be a singer or a follower of any particular path to participate! The sources for this practice come from Vietnamese Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh (rest in power!), white American Buddhist teachers Tara Brach and Sharon Salzberg, Black American vocal activist Melanie DeMore, and LeLaina's spiritual and healing study and songwriting.

This event is open to all and is BIPOC and LGBTQI+ centered.

solocantar.space is a container for music / healing / spirit projects by LeLaina Romero The space exists for those who have been moved deeply by song- whether you belt out loud, close your eyes and bask in music...if you believe in the healing power of music, this is your space.
